The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) is a government corporation attached to the Department of Health. It administers the National Health Insurance Program, which was established to provide health insurance coverage and ensure affordable and accessible healthcare services for all Filipinos.

Contribution Rate

PhilHealth has affirmed that the planned contribution increase for all direct contributors would go into effect this 2024 according to the Universal Healthcare Law of 2019.

  • PhilHealth updated its contribution from 4 % to 5%.
  • The adjustment rate shall take effect starting in 2024.
  • The monthly premium will continue to be shared equally between the employee and the employer.
  • The monthly contribution for employees earning Php 10,000 and below is fixed at Php 500.
  • Meanwhile, those earning Php 100,000 and above have a fixed monthly contribution of Php 5,000.

You may update PHIC settings on Contribution type settings when there's an update on the rates

Philheath Calculation

Employee or employer share = (Monthly basic salary x 0.05) / 2

  • Here's a sample computation for an employee with a salary of Php 20,000:
  • PHP 20,000 x 0.05 = 1,000 (Total Monthly Contribution) / 2 = 500 (Employee or Employer Share)

KAMI Philhealth Computation

If the employee is paid twice monthly, KAMI will automatically spread the PHIC requirement across 2 periods as follows.

  • For 1st semi-monthly period, or the first payslip issued within each month.
    • PHIC Wage Basis - depends on Payment Configuration >Contribution Wages
    • ER and EE Share - contributions based on half of the estimated monthly contributions

  • For 2nd semi-monthly period, or the second payslip issued within each month.
    • ER and EE Share - contributions based on the full month's wage basis calculated above, less any ER and EE already paid in 1st-half

Monthly contribution will be deducted fully if your company computes payroll once a month.
